Biography

Lorenzo Olgiati heads Schellenberg Wittmer's mergers and acquisitions group in Zurich. His practice focuses on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, public takeovers, securities and stock exchange regulation, private equity transactions, and other significant corporate and commercial matters, including advice on corporate governance matters and shareholder activism.

Lorenzo is a frequent author and speaker on legal developments affecting M&A and corporate law. He is a lecturer in the University of Zurich's LLM programme on international banking and finance law. He currently serves as an officer of the International Bar Association's corporate and M&A law committee.

Lorenzo Olgiati heads Schellenberg Wittmer's Corporate/M&A group in Zurich. His practice focuses on complex domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, public takeovers, private equity transactions as well as securities and stock exchange regulation. He regularly advises boards of private or publicly listed companies and strategic investors on corporate governance and other ESG aspects, as well as shareholder activism.


Lorenzo's recent expertise in M&A matters includes: Swiss counsel to SIX Swiss Exchange-listed ams AG in connection with its successful competing EUR 4.6 billion all-cash takeover offer for all the shares in DAX-listed OSRAM Licht AG, Germany; advising Axpo Holding, Switzerland's largest producer of renewable energy, on the sale of Avectris AG, a major Swiss IT service provider, to Swiss IT-provider GIA Informatik AG; and lead Swiss Counsel to Swiss SIX Group AG in the carve-out and disposal of its European cards business into a strategic partnership with French Worldline at a total consideration of CHF 2.75 billion.
