Konstantin Christie is a partner of Peter & Kim, a new global specialist practice in Switzerland, South Korea, Singapore and Australia, dedicated to international commercial and investment arbitration.
For the past 13 years, his practice focused on international commercial and investment arbitration, as well as disputes under public international law. Konstantin has acted in numerous arbitration proceedings, both ad hoc (UNCITRAL) and under the rules of various institutions (including ICC, LCIA, ICSID, SCC, SCAI, SIAC and CAS).
As a native Russian speaker, Konstantin’s practice often involves cases from East Europe, Russia and the former CIS region, governed by Swiss and foreign laws (notable cases included application of French, Italian, New York, Iraqi, Korean, Czech, Bulgarian, Ukrainian and BVI law). Practical experience includes matters stemming from the oil, gas, mining and electricity sectors, as well as heavy industry and construction. Konstantin also works with private clients, especially in relation to disputes connected to JVs, post-M&A valuations and shareholder rights.
Recent representative matters as counsel involved PCA, ICSID, SCC, ICC and SCAI arbitrations stemming from distribution and long-term energy supply agreements in the MENA and Asian regions with billions of US dollars at stake, and required complex expert analysis on industry pricing trends, as well as business valuations.
In addition to Russian and English, Konstantin works in French. Konstantin was admitted to the bars of New York and Massachusetts in 2007, and trained in Geneva and Paris before starting with Python & Peter in 2008. He has a law degree (JD) from University of Suffolk and a Bachelor of Science (criminal justice) degree from Northeastern University in Boston.
