Koji Fujita is specialised in international and domestic tax laws. He and his co-partner jointly lead the firm’s tax practice, which covers areas including tax planning and structuring, tax litigation, and dispute resolution. He also handles international M&A, business restructuring, business alliances and joint ventures.
He is one of the leading tax lawyers in Japan, and has long been recognised as a high-prized lawyer by several global directories and award committees.
He is also an active and long-standing member of the international tax law community, with involvement in organisations such as the International Fiscal Association (IFA), and has been a panellist in several sessions at annual IFA and International Bar Association conferences.He has an LLB from the University of Tokyo (1984) and an LLM from the University of Michigan (1990). He joined Anderson, Mori & Tomotsune in 1986 (while it was part of its predecessor firm), and also worked as an associate at Cravath Swaine & Moore in New York (1990-1991) and Bruckhaus Westrick Stegemann in Frankfurt (1991-1992). He became a partner at Anderson, Mori & Tomotsune in 1995.
