Professor Dr Jürg Simon is considered a leading lawyer in intellectual property and related fields in Switzerland (forensic and non-forensic work). Before joining Lenz & Staehelin, he was director at the Swiss Intellectual Property Institute and partner in an IP boutique firm. He teaches intellectual property law, among others, at the University of St Gallen.

Jürg Simon serves on the boards of selected IP-related companies and is president of two national associations in the field of appellations of origin.

Admitted to the Berne Bar (1987), Jürg Simon worked for the Swiss Federal Office of Justice (1987) before completing his doctoral thesis at the University of Bern (1990) and obtaining an Executive Masters in European and International Business Law from the University of St Gallen (1997). He joined Lenz & Staehelin as a partner in 2005. He speaks German, English and French.

Jürg Simon is a member of all relevant national and international professional organisations in the field.
