Juan Pablo Godoy has a JD with an emphasis in economics from the Pontifical Xavierian University (1988). He is director of the mining, oil and gas practice, and co-director of the tax and foreign trade practice, at Godoy & Hoyos.
Juan’s previous roles include chair of the Colombian Institute of Tax Law and its academic commission, and of the International Fiscal Association’s executive committee (Colombia branch); and member of the directive council of the Latin American Institute of Tax Law and the Association of Mining and Oil Lawyers. He is an honorary member of the Colombian Institute of Tax Law, and a current member of its board of directors; and a member of the list of arbitrators to the Bogota Chamber of Commerce in energy and transportation-related matters.
In 2018, he studied on the comparative tax policy and administration programme at Harvard Kennedy School.
