Biography

Jonathan Haag is a managing director at FTI Consulting where he is a member of the construction solutions practice. Mr Haag has extensive experience in advising clients in the engineering and construction industry, with particular focus on projects in the mining, oil and gas, and infrastructure sectors. He has been involved with projects around the world, including North and South America, Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Mr Haag has provided expert analysis and consultation related to schedule delay, quantum and project execution on numerous considerable disputes related to construction mega-projects. This has included proceedings in the United States and Canada, as well as international arbitration venues, typically related to large mining, oil and gas, and infrastructure projects. He also advises clients as related to commercial and residential buildings, power generation, pipeline, government, institutional, airport, educational and other industrial projects.

Additionally, Mr Haag routinely advises clients during the planning for execution of major capital projects. Mr Haag provides guidance and leadership on project cost, schedule and commercial management, as well as overall project management. Having actively executed these roles for various projects, he provides his "real-world" project experience to his expert mandates.

Mr Haag has a degree in building construction from the Georgia Institute of Technology, is a chartered member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and has been certified by AACE International as a cost control professional and planning and scheduling professional and by the Project Management Institute as a project management professional. He is involved in various construction and law organisations in the United States and regularly provides thought leadership as related to project execution and related disputes.

Biography

Jonathan Haag is a Vice President at Lighthouse Consulting Group, a consultancy focused on providing expert and advisory services to the engineering and construction industry.  Mr. Haag has extensive experience advising clients engaged in the execution of major projects, as well as providing expert analysis and testimony for related disputes, with particular focus on projects in the mining, oil and gas, and infrastructure sectors.

Specific to the mining industry, Mr. Haag has considerable experience with large and complex capital projects during both project execution and the resolution of related disputes.  As part of his project execution experience, Mr. Haag has filled roles in project controls and contract management and administration, providing him with “boots-on-the-ground” experience in common aspects of disputes related to mining projects, such as change management, scheduling, cost controls, and commercial matters.  He has assisted clients with the development and construction of mining facilities in North and South America, Central Asia, and Africa.
