Javier Trapero Perez has "extensive knowledge" of quantum and delay issues and is widely regarded as a truly "impressive" expert.
Javier is a chartered industrial engineer (MSc) with more than 14 years of experience in design, construction and project management. During this time, Javier has been involved in more than 100 projects, mainly related to industrial installations and heavy equipment for the construction industry in Europe (Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Russia and Eastern Europe) and the US.
Javier has been appointed as an expert in delay analysis and extension-of-time claims in large construction projects (power plants, renewable energies, oil and gas facilities, combined heat and power (CHP) installations) in Spain, the USA, Colombia and Bangladesh, among others, and in linear constructions (roads, railway, trams and subways) in Bolivia, Romania, Ecuador and Saudi Arabia, among others.
Javier, together with Altran’s forensic team, is specialised in contract management (FIDIC), claims management and determination of the proper methodology for the delays analysis for each type of project. Javier’s methodologies are based on a rigorous evaluation of the impact of delays on a project (critical path analysis), generating accurate data that can be implemented into the quantum analysis. This produces successful results that can be used in various courts of international arbitration.
Javier is a member of AACE International; in this capacity he has presented technical papers based on his expertise in delay and quantum analysis (relating particularly to the methodology of programme analysis).
Javier has experience as a party-appointed expert and tribunal-appointed expert in ICC and LCIA arbitration processes. He has given evidence to tribunals in Houston, Madrid and Santiago, among others.
