Janusz Tomczak is praised as a “go-getter” and “a leading white-collar crime practitioner in Poland”.

Janusz Tomczak is an advocate and partner leading the business crime and compliance department of Raczkowski Law Firm.

He has comprehensive experience advising and representing corporate clients and private individuals in international and domestic matters, including those facing risks related to criminal liability.

In the past 17 years he has been involved in many complex litigation matters, embracing different law regimes and jurisdictions and handling various criminal and regulatory aspects.

His most significant recent experience includes assistance in a multi-jurisdictional corporate investigation, involving bribery and fraud allegations in a Polish subsidiary of a US-listed financial-sector company; cross-border defence of a foreign CEO in a matter concerning abuse of trust allegations related to restructuring process of a food-sector group; and assisting a Polish brewing company in a criminal tax investigation concerning alleged fraudulent tax optimisation.

In recent years he has led and assisted in over a dozen corporate internal investigations, in which his extensive experience has proven crucial in the proper legal assessment and management of risks emerging from corporate crises that have caused potentially serious consequences for companies and their officers.

Since 2010 Mr Tomczak has served as a judge for the Warsaw and national Bar disciplinary bodies.
