Jaime Rodríguez is a senior associate in the competition and European law group of Allen & Overy Spain.
Jaime has significant experience in merger filings to the European Commission (EC) and the Spanish Competition Authority (CNMC), and also handles multi-jurisdictional filings to other competition authorities worldwide. He has recently advised ICG on its filing to the EC concerning the acquisition of Konecta (M.9275), Enagás and Axión on creation of a full function joint venture (M.8793) and Cepsa in relation to its acquisition of CGC (M.8699). At Spanish level, he has advised clients including Apax, IIF, OCP and Waterland on merger control filings to the CNMC.
Jaime also has substantial experience defending companies (including Accenture, Altadis (a subsidiary of Imperial Brands Group) and Hanson Hispania (a subsidiary of HeidelbergCement) and trade associations in infringement proceedings for alleged anticompetitive practices. His practice also covers setting up competition law compliance programmes for Spanish and international clients and advising large multinationals on state aid matters.
Jaime frequently litigates before the Spanish High Court and the Spanish Supreme Court in competition law appeals. He also has experience defending clients before the European Court of Justice of the General Court of the EU.
