Isabel Cantidiano is a partner of Cantidiano Advogados. The firm, which has offices in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, was created in 2016 by Luiz Leonardo Cantidiano (in memoriam), when he and his partners, who had solid experience in the capital and financial markets, decided to leave their previous firm in order to focus their practice in these areas.
Isabel works in corporate transactions and represents clients in domestic and international arbitrations, especially in the areas of corporate law and capital markets, and also in mediation procedures.
In June 2018, she was elected a member of the executive board of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee.
Isabel was educated at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2002), where she obtained her bachelor's degree in law; the University of Cambridge, UK (2006), where she obtained her master's degree (LLM) in commercial law; and the New University of Lisbon, Portugal (2008), where she obtained her postgraduate degree in arbitration.
Isabel worked as an attorney in the capital markets area of Uría Menendez, Lisbon office (2006-2007).
She was one of the pro bono lawyers selected by the International Olympic Committee to act in sport arbitrations before the ad hoc division of CAS during the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games of 2016.
Isabel is currently a licensed member of the Order of Attorneys of Brazil (OAB), Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo sections, and of the Portuguese Bar Association.
She is fluent in Portuguese and English.
Isabel is the author of a commentary on volume 10 of the ICSID Reports (Cambridge University Press, 2006).
