Ian Osbaldeston is a chartered quantity surveyor and quantum expert with 20 years of experience in the construction and engineering industry. He is a member of the Academy of Experts, is regularly appointed as an independent expert witness in quantum and has given written and oral evidence in multiple ICC, DIAC and ICSID arbitrations. Ian is also experienced in being “hot-tubbed”.
Highly regarded in the profession, he has a proven track record in delivering construction consultancy services to clients. Ian’s experience includes working for and within client organisations, providing expert advice, consulting and support to avoid, mitigate and resolve disputes on major projects.
He has specific experience of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, where he has delivered contentious, non-contentious and commercial management services. Ian’s experience includes the valuation of variations, extension of time claims, terminated works, financial impact of late payment and loss of potential profits as well as the financial impact of non-project related overheads.
Ian has a working knowledge of most standard and bespoke forms of contract with particular focus on FIDIC, EPC, NEC, IChemE, ICE and JCT contracts. His industry experience includes aviation and IT special airport systems, infrastructure, luxury commercial properties, marine, nuclear, oil and gas, rail and water.
