Hernán Fleischmann Chadwick is a founding partner at Fleischmann & León Abogados.
He has specialised in civil and administrative law, and domestic and international litigation and arbitration. His professional practice has focused mainly on infrastructure and construction work, related to public and private sector, in the field of mining, roads, airports, reservoirs, hospitals, energy, highways, tunnels, and real estate, among others.
Hernán qualified as a lawyer at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (1999), having obtained the highest distinction in his licence exam (summa cum laude). He has a postgraduate degree in tax law from Adolfo Ibañez University and a Master of Laws degree (LLM) from Georgetown University (2004).
He has published several articles and has lectured various classes and seminars on subjects of his specialty. His teaching experience includes acting as professor in construction law at the University of Los Andes (2015–) and the Pontifical Catholic University (2018).
He has been an arbitrator at the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Chamber of Commerce of Santiago since 2014, and arbiter of the judicial power of Chile.
He is a member of the Chilean Bar Association, the Arbitration Committee on Construction, the Latin American Arbitration Association and the International Bar Association (IBA).
He has been highlighted by Chambers & Partners Global, Chambers and Partners Latin America, The Legal 500, Best Lawyers and Practical Law Company, among other recognised international publications, in the areas of dispute resolution, projects, constructions and public law. In 2018, he was named by Best Lawyers as Lawyer of the Year in construction matters.
