Henrique Frohnknecht is an outstanding expert who has more than two decades of experience in construction issues, with a particular focus in delay, quantum and technical matters.
Henrique is a mechanical engineer with more than 25 years of experience in project and contract management. He has acted as an expert witness in delay, quantum and technical matters.
Henrique has more than 10 years of hands-on project experience primarily working on projects in the power generation and transmission, mining, civil works, telecom, power distribution, marine terminals and oil and gas plants and platforms (including FPSOs). With both practical and theoretical experience, his expertise includes assessment of engineering services and orientation to solve technical, operational and administrative issues.
Henrique's commercial and contractual experience encompasses claim substantiation, analysis, negotiation and management; schedule analysis and management; bond, insurance and PCG negotiation and management; insurance claims regulation and negotiation; and technical and commercial negotiation for contracts of up to US$4 billion.
Henrique has extensive experience in litigation, expert reports and arbitration. He has acted as expert witness on eight occasions, has been cross-examined six times, including delivering concurrent evidence (hot-tubbing), and has also acted as technical assistant in 12 arbitrations.
Henrique is qualified in engineering, law and business and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the American Association of Cost Engineers and the Dispute Review Board Foundation. He is named as a recommended expert witness in Leaders League 2017 and 2018 and is fluent in both English and Portuguese, with advanced skills in Spanish and basic Italian.
