Heiko Heppner stands “at the forefront of international arbitration practitioners in the German market” according to sources who he impresses with his “leading expertise in China-related disputes”.
Heiko Heppner is a partner in Dentons’ Frankfurt office. Heiko has over 10 years' experience in litigating complex cross-border cases and has argued before numerous international arbitration tribunals and a range of trial and appellate courts in Germany and abroad. His practice focuses on international arbitration, both commercial and under investment treaties, and cross-border litigation. Heiko also sits as an arbitrator.
Heiko’s two full legal educations in Germany and the United States as well as his qualification as an English barrister offer clients a particular added value in matters that cross the common law/civil law divide.
Heiko has been a professor of international arbitration law at Fuzhou University, China for three years. Starting next semester, he will teach international arbitration and investment law at a leading university in Shanghai, China. Heiko is a lecturer of common law at the University of Bonn, Germany.
Heiko is finally the president of the litigation think tank International Litigation Exchange eV (ILEX) and a member of various law associations, including the International Bar Association (IBA), the American Bar Association (ABA), the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), the German Bar Association (DAV), the German-American Lawyers Association (GALA) and a few others.
Before joining Dentons, Heiko was a counsel at a Magic Circle firm.
