Biography

Harold Frey leads the litigation and arbitration practice of Lenz & Staehelin in Zurich. He has represented clients in far more than 100 international arbitrations. Matters included a wide range of legal issues and industries (such as construction, manufacturing, technology, pharmaceutical, financial services and defence). A particular emphasis of his practice is on construction and M&A disputes (he has been involved in eight post-acquisition cases over the last twelve months alone). Harold Frey is also regularly appointed as arbitrator (chair, sole or co-arbitrator).

Harold Frey is a lecturer on arbitration as well as on corporate and M&A disputes at the University of Zurich. He has published numerous books and articles in this field.

He is a member of the board of the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA) and a member of the Court of Arbitration of the Swiss Chambers’ Arbitration Institution.

Harold Frey completed his graduate and postgraduate studies in Zurich (lic. iur.) and holds an LL.M. from the New York University School of Law in New York. He has been admitted to the Zurich Bar and to the New York Bar. He speaks German and English.
