Gino Bello leads the FTI Consulting technology segment in South-East Asia. A digital forensics expert and certified computer examiner, having written expert reports and affidavits to the courts and regulators in Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and the Philippines, Gino specialises in forensic collection, analysis and expert reporting of digital evidence.
With 15 years of experience in cyber, digital forensics, e-discovery and IT, Gino has led a broad range of matters including cross-border disputes, high-stakes investigations, cyber risk, incident response, breaches, IP theft, bribery and corruption, employee misconduct and white-collar crime.
Gino has extensive experience across a range of sectors, including construction, financial services, government, insurance, manufacturing and health. He is currently assisting a multinational commodities trader in a multi-regulator investigation utilising advanced analytics, has been appointed by a financial institution as digital forensics expert in the largest government inquiry into the industry; advised on a large-scale IP theft for a real-estate multinational involving a search warrant (seizing hundreds of computers across multiple sites) and submission of expert witness reports; assisted a multinational researcher for forensic collection and analysis of devices in a case spanning eight countries and involving bribery and corruption; assisted an insurer in an investigation into the exit of hundreds of its directors, agents, and employees to a competitor, identifying collusion, contract breach and IP theft, and e-discovery volume, cost and process; advised on cyber-risk reviews and table-top training of management for an insurer; and incident response for government, pharmaceutical and manufacturing organisations regarding ransomware and breaches.
A member of the ISFCE and HTCIA (2nd vice president), Gino has held government security clearances and has completed postgraduate, undergraduate and formal industry training in digital forensics. Gino has lectured at Melbourne University and authored forensic policies at government level.
