Fluent in Spanish, English and French, Gilberto is a Director at J.S. Held, and leads the Scheduling Department for Europe and Latin America. Gilberto has held management positions in several Engineering and Construction companies, being responsible for their Scheduling and Projects Controls departments, and is highly experienced in planning, forensic schedule analysis, project controls, contract management and claims and Expert Witness assignments, having given oral testimony.
He has a depth of knowledge preparing and defending claims on major projects and has a particularly strong track record on matters relating to delay having been appointed as a delay Expert Witness on numerous occasions and on a diverse range of international projects across Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. Gilberto has been cross examined and has very deep expertise with respect to forensic delay analysis using the latest methodologies and technologies.
Gilberto has worked on projects in over 20 countries with his sector and projects expertise ranging from oil & gas, energy (conventional and renewables), mining, water treatment plants and industrial process plants, through to civil infrastructure including high speed rail, roads and bridges as well as healthcare facilities such as hospitals.
He was a core committee member for the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) The Practice Standard for Scheduling - Third Edition Update, as well as being a regularly invited speaker at PMI, AACE and Society of Construction Law - Spain Chapter “Club del Derecho de la Construcción y la Ingeniería (CDCI) conferences.
