Mr Puri is a chartered accountant and is the leader for the forensic and disputes practice of PwC in India. His career spans 20 years of forensic engagements across more than 30 countries worldwide. Mr Puri is considered one of the pioneers in forensic services in India and has extensive experience of high-profile engagements, many of which have been covered extensively in the press. These include forensic accounting matters such as financial statement fraud, embezzlement, asset misappropriation, bribery and corruption, diversion of funds, economic offences, trade sanctions, regulatory non-compliance, code of conduct and other ethical violations.
Also considered as a leading expert witness, he has provided reports and testimony in Indian and international arbitration (seated in the UK, the USA, Europe, Singapore and several other countries). These have included matters related to joint venture and M&A disputes, quantum and damage calculations, contractual claims, intellectual property and other commercial disputes.
He has been involved in number of pro-bono initiatives including constitutional matters, and evaluating commercial aspects of proposed legislation and changes to public policy. Passionate about thought leadership, he contributes regularly to forensic accounting topics within the student and professional communities.
