This edition covers 19 different practice areas and has 142 practitioners recognised. We have expanded last year’s construction chapter to include real estate lawyers and have renamed our regulatory communications chapter as telecoms and media and our internet and e-commerce chapter to information technology to reflect the convergence of the market and the broadening of lawyers’ practices. Our largest chapter by far is M&A, which recognises 28 outstanding practitioners, eight more than in our previous edition. This reflects the continued influx of private equity into the country which has led to a boom in the market. Twenty alternative dispute resolution lawyers are singled out, three more than last year, demonstrating the growing popularity of arbitration and mediation as a means of settling disputes. We also recognise an increased number of intellectual property practitioners - 17 - as more multinational companies seek to register for patent and trademark protection in this jurisdiction.
Overall we have selected 22 more individuals for inclusion in this edition, demonstrating that the legal market is growing apace with the country’s economy.
