Fahrul S Yusuf is a partner at SSEK Legal Consultants and heads the firm’s labour and employment practice.
Fahrul is experienced in all aspects of Indonesian labour and employment law. This includes advising corporate clients on severance matters; personnel policies and work rules; employment contracts; collective labour agreements; pension funds; secondment arrangements; labour disputes; and social security programmes. Fahrul is particularly active in advising companies on labour and employment matters in relation to mergers or acquisitions.
Fahrul’s recent experience includes advising on the transfer of employees, and driver/customer contracts and personal data, in connection with the acquisition of Uber’s business and assets in Indonesia by Grab; providing ongoing employment law advice to numerous companies in the TMT space; and assisting a Japan-based car manufacturer with employment terminations due to efficiency reasons. Fahrul is assisting a multinational logistics company with the restructuring of its employment structure in Indonesia following its acquisition of a competitor.
Fahrul has been named a distinguished practitioner for labour and employment by Asialaw. He was named the Young Lawyer of the Year at the 2016 Asian Legal Business Indonesia Law Awards.
Fahrul graduated in 2003 from the University of Indonesia Faculty of Law, and earned his Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Chicago in 2010.
