Fabiola is Senior Associate and Director of IP Department at Costa Rica. With more than 10 years of experience counseling clients in the Intellectual Property field, she specializes on the cosmetics, financial, food and beverages sector. Fabiola has a vast experience in managing large trademark and patent portfolios. Among the diverse matters of the Intellectual Property field she handles, her primary focus is on the assessment of opportunities, liabilities, risks and strategies for businesses, based on the client´s intangibles. Her commitment is to help clients achieve and fully develop their IP potential. Fabiola leads matters related to trademarks, patents, copyrights, infringement and regulatory issues.
Throughout her career she worked as a head attorney for IP matters in Costa Rica and part of the Caribbean islands at Ideas at a boutique IP firm, has been a litigant, and was recently part of the Board of Directors of the Costa Rican Bar Association as Vocal II and Prosecutor. Fabiola is very proactive in the Intellectual Property sector, and as a result, she has currently been elected as part of the Board of Directors of the Costa Rican IP Association APPICR, she is member of the Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration Committee of ASIPI and of the Internet Committee at INTA. She is also active within the Costa Rican Bar Association, where she is member of the Intellectual Property Committee and the Committee for Uniform Law and International Commerce. Has contributed with an essay for an exclusive jurisprudence compendium on IP cases promoted by APPICR, has written articles for forums such as Lex Latin and has been a speaker on conferences with special focus on IP trends.
