Dr Fabio Babey is CEO at AGON Partners Legal Ltd. With his legal and management skills, Fabio has been instrumental in the great success AGON have enjoyed in establishing themselves as the market-leading full-service competition and compliance law office in Switzerland.
Fabio has helped AGON to become a leading supplier of the very best competition law and compliance management training programmes. His expertise has assisted dozens of companies and associations to integrate efficient, compliance procedures within their business. Fabio enjoys permanent mandates as the external compliance officer for publicly traded companies.
Fabio is also deeply connected with the academic world, as deputy head of the Centre for Competition Law and Compliance at Zurich University. Fabio regularly lectures extensively in Switzerland and abroad on all aspects of competition law and compliance. He manages continuing educational programmes, such as the CAS Compliance Officer and the CAS International Competition Law, in cooperation with the NYSBA and UNCTAD.
Fabio is also the secretary for the Swiss Association for Compliance and Competition Law (ACCL), giving awards to, inter alia, the best academic papers in Switzerland, and organising several events on current competition law issues. Fabio manages the events series “Debating Competition”, held by the Young Competition Lawyers and Economists network.
Fabio is fluent in German, English and French, and speaks Italian and Spanish. He studied law at the Universities of Zurich, Rome and Sevilla. His PhD thesis at the University of Zurich focused on competition law, mentored by the current President of the Swiss Competition Commission. Prior to joining AGON, Fabio founded his own company and worked for a law firm specialised in media and competition law in Zürich. Fabio will this year finish his EMBA at the University of St Gallen.
