Emmanuel (Manny) Pressman is chairman of the corporate department. He represents public and private companies, private equity sponsors, special committees, boards and investment banks involved in take-over bids, proxy contests, joint ventures, negotiated and contested mergers and acquisitions, and a range of corporate transactions and restructurings. His clients have included Constellation Brands, Magna, Fairfax, Blackstone, South32, KingSett Capital, Vector Capital, TPG Capital and the ADT Corporation. He is widely and repeatedly recognised as a leading M&A practitioner, is a frequent speaker at conferences and has guest-lectured at the McGill University Faculty of Law, the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and the IBA mergers and acquisitions conference in New York. Co-author of the Canada chapter of the International Mergers & Acquisitions Review for the past ten years. Recent mandates include Entertainment One in its $4 billion sale to Hasbro, Blackstone in its $3.8 billion acquisition of PURE REIT, Constellation Brands in its $1.03 billion sale of its Canadian wine business to Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and WS Atkins in the $3.6 billion acquisition by the SNC-Lavalin.
