Elizabeth Gutteridge leads Deloitte’s disputes practice and is a member of Deloitte's global forensic executive.
She is experienced in quantifying damages in a range of different contexts and regularly undertakes accounting and factual investigations. She is currently leading a Deloitte team in a multi-billion dollar dispute in the financial services sector before the High Court.
She is appointed regularly as an expert witness, providing written and oral evidence in the High Court and various international jurisdictions. Her experience includes actions before the UK High Court, the Patents Court, the Competition Appeals Tribunal, the High Court of Hong Kong, the Federal Court of New South Wales, the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands, the Court of Session in Scotland, as well as European competition authorities and private international arbitrations and mediations.
Elizabeth has a particular skill in effectively combining forensic know-how with industry and technical expertise, in order to deliver multi-disciplinary teams of sector and technical experts in high-profile litigation. She has a longstanding interest in intellectual property (IP) and has advised in IP disputes in a range of industries from pharmaceuticals to telecoms and media to manufacturing.
A graduate of Cambridge University, Elizabeth is also a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a certificate in International IP Law from Oxford University.
