Eleonora Coelho is the founding partner of Eleonora Coelho Advogados. She has a master’s degree in litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) from Université Paris II - Panthéon Assas; and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of São Paulo Law School.
She has 20 years of experience in national and international arbitrations, ADR and court litigation, and in the definition of pre-litigation strategies.
Eleonora is currently the president of the Centre for Arbitration and Mediation of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (CAM-CCBC). She acted as general secretary of CAM-CCBC from May 2015 to April 2019. She is former vice president of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr). She was also part of the Commission of Jurists designated by the Federal Senate to update the Brazilian Arbitration Act.
Eleonora is listed in the roster of arbitrators of various arbitral institutions, such as the Mediation and Arbitration Chamber of the Engineering Institute (CMA-IE); the Chamber of Conciliation and Arbitration of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV); the Market Arbitration Chamber (CAM B3); the Commercial Arbitration Chamber of Brazil (CAMARB); the Chamber of Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration of São Paulo (FIESP/CIESP); and the CAM-CCBC.
She acts as arbitrator and counsel in several domestic and international arbitrations of great complexity, under the rules of various institutions, as well as in ad hoc cases. The disputes concern banking, construction, corporate, civil, commercial, and business-related matters, among others.
Eleonora has authored various publications and frequently gives classes and lectures related to arbitration and mediation.
Eleonora is fluent in Portuguese, English and French.
