Eduardo has 20 years of experience, including two years (2002–2004) at the Brazilian Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE). He has successfully led complex global and local merger and acquisition cases. He has experience of complex litigation in several practice areas, especially matters with a competition element (such as domestic and international investigations, international cooperation, plea bargaining, guilty pleas and leniency agreements). He has developed a unique and comprehensive skillset to tackle clients’ issues in a holistic way, covering every sphere of liability and exposure. Armed with this expertise, he has worked on civil and criminal cases involving cartels, bid riggings, corruption schemes, money laundering and fraud in general. Throughout his career, he has worked on cases affecting virtually all industries and sectors of the economy, such as logistics and transport, aviation, energy, telecommunications, chemicals and education. Among his most prominent institutional activities are his roles as a member of the board of directors of the Fulbright Commission in Brazil (2014–) and a member of the superior council for legal and legislative affairs of the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (CONJUR/ FIESP) (2012–). Among his most important academic credentials is Gaban’s PhD from PUC-SP (2011), where he has led the centre for studies and research on competition and innovation since 2012. He is also a former visiting Fulbright scholar at the New York University School of Law (2010-2011).
