Prof Dr Edgar Philippin is a partner at Kellerhals Carrard. His practice is mostly transactional and his experience covers a large number of private and public M&A transactions in various industries, including hospitality, education, medical, energy, sports and entertainment, often with intellectual property, employment law or real estate aspects. Edgar Philippin is also is a recognised expert in matters of contract law, corporate governance and executive compensation. He is a member of the board of directors in several private companies and regularly serves as arbitrator in domestic and international matters.
Edgar Philippin is a professor of law at the University of Lausanne, where he teaches mergers and acquisitions, takeovers and general principles of private law. He is the author of over 30 academic publications, mostly on corporate law issues.
After graduating from Lausanne University Law School in 1996 with highest honours, Edgar Philippin obtained the Bippert and Professor Walther Hug Awards for his doctoral dissertation (2000). He was admitted to the bar in Switzerland 2002. After a secondment to a major US law firm as an international associate, he became a partner with Carrard & Associés (predecessor to Kellerhals Carrard) in 2003. Edgar Philippin works in French, English, Italian and German.
