Orrick partner Douglas Lahnborg represents clients before the European Commission (Commission) and the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) in all areas of competition law, including international merger control investigations and complex abuse of dominance and cartel investigations. He has acted for clients in a broad range of industries, including technology, telecommunications, manufacturing, healthcare, defence, energy and finance. Recently, he was the lead lawyer in the Commission's investigation into the consolidation of the Nordic satellite pay-TV platforms, reducing the number of DTH operators in the region from two to one. He has also been active representing Big Tech before the CMA in mergers and a market study. Douglas is based in London and spends a proportion of his time in the Brussels office, which he founded.
