Diego Salto draws high praise for his tremendous understanding of international corporate tax law.
Diego is a partner at Consortium Legal – Costa Rica, and a specialist in financial and tax sectors. He has extensive experience in tax consulting, litigation, mergers, acquisitions and tax planning, mainly of multinational companies, as well as local. Currently he leads the tax consulting practice in the areas of analysis and business consulting.
Diego is considered one of the five most highly recommended tax advisers in Central America by the Latin Lawyer published by Law Business Research in the UK. He has worked as an external consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank in the development and implementation of training programmes for public officials and currently serves as columnist for the economic weekly El Financiero. He currently works in the area of teaching at the University of Costa Rica (UCR) and heads his tax chair. On the other hand, he is president of the International Fiscal Association –Costa Rica chapter and a member of the Costa Rican Institute of Tax Studies.
He has a doctorate in financial and tax law from the University of Seville, Spain (2001), a postgraduate degree in law of the European Union from the University of Seville, Spain (1999) and a law degree from the Escuela Libre de Derecho, Costa Rica (1997).
