Diederick van der Plas is a senior managing director and the head of the EMEA restructuring practice in FTI Consulting's corporate finance and restructuring segment in London.
Diederick has over 20 years’ experience advising a wide range of stakeholders in stressed and distressed situations. He has acted as lead financial adviser on high-profile financial restructurings in the UK, Continental Europe, the Middle East and Asia for a variety of stakeholders, including senior and junior lenders, bondholders, corporates and private equity.
Diederick specialises in complex, multi-stakeholder, cross-border debt restructurings, including the refinancing and restructuring of debt facilities, raising new money, amending existing facilities and the equitisation of debt. He also has extensive expertise in dealing with listed businesses both in the UK and internationally, and has acted as lead financial adviser on a variety of pan-European and global restructurings.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Diederick spent 18 years at PwC, where he was the global leader of PwC’s Restructuring Practice. Prior to joining PwC in 2000 he worked for Bank of America in the USA.
