Dr Diana Correa is the founding partner of Diana Correa International SAS, a law firm based in Bogotá (Colombia), whose practice focuses on the areas of commercial arbitration, investment arbitration, private and public international law. Dr Correa sits as arbitrator in domestic and international cases under the Rules of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce and the Chambers of Commerce of Bogotá, Medellín and Cali. She is also a member of the panel of international arbitrators of AmCham Peru, the Chamber of Commerce of Lima and the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.
As counsel, Dr Correa represents clients in ICC proceedings. She did act as consultant to the Colombian Agency of Defence in investment arbitrations under the ICSID, PCA and UNCITRAL Rules, and consults for private operators in domestic matters related to Colombia and LATAM countries. Prior to creating her own law firm, Dr Correa practised international arbitration at Derains & Gharavi (Paris) and Dechert LLP (Paris). Her practice has involved a wide range of sectors, including construction and infrastructure, mining, oil, telecommunications, energy, commercial agency contracts and distribution contracts, among others.
Dr Correa is a professor at the Externado University of Colombia. She often writes on topics related to international law and arbitration and speaks at academic events related to international arbitration.
Dr Correa is fluent in Spanish, English and French, and has a basic understanding of Portuguese. She completed her LLB at the Externado University as well as a postgraduate diploma in responsibility law and assessment of damages. From the University of Panthéon-Assas (Paris), she obtained two master's degrees (in private international law and international economic law, respectively) and a PhD in public international law.
