Dean Mullett is a senior managing director at FTI Consulting and is based in Toronto. He is the leader of FTI Capital Advisors in Canada, FTI Consulting's investment banking subsidiary.
Mr Mullett has more than 20 years of capital markets experience, specialising in special situation investment banking. His areas of focus include strategic options advisory, M&A transactions, capital raising and balance sheet restructuring and fundraising for alternative asset funds. Mr Mullett has worked with clients across a range of industries, including automotive, construction, energy, finance, food, professional services, real estate, retail, steel and transportation.
Mr Mullett has recently advised Bondfield Construction in connection with its $80 million refinancing; an oil field services company in connection with its refinancing; various financings for the railcar original equipment manufacturer National Steel Car; the sale of TSC Stores, owned by Birch Hill Equity Partners, to Peavey Mart; and the sale of Comark, operating under the Ricki’s, Bootlegger and Cleo brands, to Stern Partners.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr Mullett was a managing director at Alvarez & Marsal in Toronto, where he launched and led the firm’s Canadian Investment Banking business. Previously, Mr Mullett was also a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he spent 15 years in various roles within the restructuring and corporate finance practices.
Mr Mullett holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in accounting and economics from the University of Toronto. He is a chartered accountant, and holds a corporate finance specialist designation from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is also a chartered professional accountant, a licensed trustee in bankruptcy and a chartered insolvency and restructuring professional. Mr Mullett is a licensed FINRA general securities registered representative in Series 7 and 63.
