A Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Chartered Civil Engineering Surveyor, David has over 35 years’ experience of the construction industry. In that time he has been engaged by contractors, private and public sector employers and various professional practices.
David’s main area of technical expertise is in evaluating contractual claims, covering such subject matters as prolongation, disruption, acceleration, cost escalation, depreciation, head office overheads, and loss of profit claims. He has been cross-examined on measurement issues, valuation of work carried out, variations, prolongation, and disruption. He has previously been appointed in matters before the Technology and Construction Court in the UK as well as international ICC, LCIA, DIFC and DIAC arbitrations.
David is highly regarded as a quantum expert who produces robust analysis and evidence to clearly identify cause and quantify disputed sums, and was recognised by Who’s Who Legal in 2018, 2019 and 2020. WWL: Construction cited him as a "talented expert who is proficient at providing quantum analysis in disputes in the construction, civil engineering, transportation, rail and telecommunications sectors".
David is masters qualified from Kings College, London and is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Fellow of the Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building, and a Barrister. He is also a CEDR accredited mediator.
