Biography

David Goodman, managing director at Kroll is a civil engineer and delay analyst with over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry of which the past 19 years have been spent working within project planning, strategic advice, project management and dispute resolution teams in the UK and internationally. Much of the analysis carried out by Mr Goodman has naturally involved detailed reviews of the design, procurement or the construction process of a project.

As part of these roles Mr Goodman has worked on various projects across the globe within all major construction fields including civil engineering and infrastructure, power, oil and gas, residential and commercial construction.

Mr Goodman has acted as an expert witness on many occasions, has prepared expert witness reports, given oral expert testimony and provided strategic advice to solicitors and counsel on various time-related disputes.

In the 2011 case of Carillion JM Ltd. v PHI Group Ltd., and Robert West Consulting Ltd heard at the Technology and Construction Court in London (in which Mr Goodman acted as the planning expert for one of the parties), Mr Justice Akenhead said of Mr Goodman in his Judgment “...I found him to be particularly straight, keen and focused. He was an impressive expert whose views commanded respect.”

In 2020 Mr Goodman co-authored a chapter of the book ‘Dealing with Delay and Disruption on Construction Projects’, a practical guide providing construction professionals with the understanding of how delay and disruption issues can affect construction projects.
