Claudia de los Ríos enjoys a strong reputation in the market for her extensive experience handling competition-focused investigations before the authorities.
Claudia De los Ríos Olascoaga, partner at Ledesma & Rodríguez Rivero, SC, co-leads the firm’s antitrust and competition practice group. She also contributes to other practice areas, particularly administrative and constitutional law.
Ms De los Ríos has more than 18 years of experience in antitrust and competition matters. She has been in charge of diverse investigation proceedings before the current antitrust authority, the Federal Economic Competition Commission (Cofece) and its predecessor Cofeco, mainly regarding cartels, vertical monopolistic practices, abuse of dominance, barriers to entry proceedings and merger control procedures. Her main experience is in amparo proceedings related to antitrust matters, an area in which she has been recognised as a well-known litigant. She has also contributed as a consultant to national and international companies, as well as Mexican authorities, in implementing compliance strategies and antitrust training programmes.
Ms De los Ríos has a law degree from the Anáhuac University and has participated in several law and antitrust lectures and programmes, such as the course on US legal English and US legal methods at George Washington University. She also carried out an internship at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges LLP in Los Angeles, California. She is a non-governmental adviser to Cofece within the International Competition Network (ICN), and is member of the ANADE.
