Biography

Charles Mikulka is a senior managing director at FTI Consulting in New York.

Mr Mikulka has more than 40 years of diversified experience in the chemical and related industries, the last 20 of which have focused on providing expert consulting assistance and expert testimony in both litigations and arbitrations across a wide range of complex commercial disputes, including: contract disputes; intellectual property disputes; theft of trade secrets and patent infringement; bankruptcies; failed mergers and acquisitions; and business interruption where he opines on damages and lost profits, irreparable harm, industry custom and practice, and valuations of assets, technology and businesses. Most notably, Mr Mikulka provided industry and damages testimony at the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce, London concerning the failed formation of K-Dow.

During his extensive career, Mr Mikulka has also performed major consulting projects for the energy, utility, biotechnology, financial, legal, transportation and chemical industries, as well as government and institutional organisations. He has managed proprietary assignments ranging from techno/economic evaluations and market analyses to in-depth acquisition assessments, strategic planning studies and competitor analyses. Product areas of specialisation include petrochemicals, biofuels, commodity chemicals and a wide range of specialty and performance chemicals.

Mr Mikulka received his MBA in management/international business from New York University, and his MS and BS in chemical engineering from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn/New York University. He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
