Chaitanya Arora is a managing director in the Disputes, Forensics and Investigations practice of Secretariat. He is based in Singapore. Prior to joining Secretariat, he was a senior managing director with another consulting firm. He has also served as the managing partner of the India office of an international consulting and advisory firm.
Chaitanya’s career spans over 20 years, during which he has worked as an auditor, M&A adviser, specialist in transaction services and expert witness in disputes for the quantification of damages, contentious valuation and loss of profits. He has worked across geographies including the US, India, Europe and South East Asia. Chaitanya currently focuses on assessment of quantum of damages, accounting issues, loss of profits and valuation issues in disputed situations.
Chaitanya’s industry experience includes real estate (islands in particular), thermal power plants, infrastructure (ports, railways, metro systems), fast-moving consumer goods, medical devices, retail, infrastructure, online travel, oil and gas, industrial gases, consumer and branded goods, renewable power generation, renewable energy, traction locomotives, real estate and diversified and industrial materials.Chaitanya has advised several businesses and private equity funds with the evaluation of investments, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. He has broad advisory experience across the deal continuum on the buy and sell side, and he has been appointed as expert witness in matters that include post-merger/acquisition disputes, joint venture terminations, construction related damages, interpretation of accounting and audit issues, termination of commercial contracts etc., in Singapore, India and other South Asian geographies. He currently serves as the Honorary Treasurer a member of the Board of Directors of the Singapore branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
