Chad Griffin is a senior managing director at FTI Consulting and is based in London. Mr Griffin has more than 16 years of experience in advising stakeholders on complex European restructurings. He advises bondholder groups, lenders and corporates on debt restructurings and insolvencies.
Mr Griffin’s experience includes many significant public, creditor and private company restructurings in the UK and across Europe. He has represented clients on major restructurings and insolvencies across a wide spectrum of industry sectors. In particular, Mr Griffin has worked extensively on assignments in the energy sector with leading credentials in the oil and gas, oilfield services and renewable energy sectors.
Mr Griffin has acted as financial adviser and undertaken business reviews, financial restructurings, options assessments and contingency planning. Mr Griffin has a particular expertise in relation to enforcement options to restructure onerous liabilities or achieve value maximising restructurings or exits.
Mr Griffin is a chartered accountant and a licensed insolvency practitioner.
Recent restructuring experience includes acting as financial adviser to bondholders to various E&P oil and gas companies; financial adviser to lenders of various oilfield services companies including IRM operators, PSVs, drillship operators and construction vessels; adviser to monoline insurance companies in relation to various renewable energy groups and other distressed and stressed situations; adviser to the lenders in respect of contingency planning and enforcement scenarios including food groups, professional services, care homes, consumer goods, printing and numerous other sectors; and adviser to groups looking to use insolvency to restructure operations and compromise onerous claims.
Recent insolvency experience includes acting as administrator of Iona Energy, the first UK E&P insolvency of this cycle; BVI liquidator of Xcite Energy, owner of Bentley, a large UKCS heavy oil development licence; administrator of Swordfish Shipco, a vessel owning subsidiary of Harkand; administrator of Globo Plc, an enterprise mobility management and mobile application business; receiver of various real estate companies including shopping centres, student accommodation and commercial property; administrator of 2e2 Group, a European IT services group; and administrator of Lighthouse International SA, the financing vehicle for Seat Pagine Gialle.
