Bruno Campana is a senior managing director at FTI Consulting, based in London. He leads FTI Consulting's capital market services team as part of the economic and financial consulting practice in EMEA. He has over 15 years' experience in financial markets. Bruno has expertise in trading, valuation, structuring and risk management across a wide range of complex financial instruments (including derivatives and structured products) and asset classes (including equity, debt, foreign exchanges, money markets, commodities and energy).
Bruno provides subject-matter expertise to clients globally and in many contexts: transactions (mergers & acquisitions), restructurings, liquidations, regulatory reporting, financial and tax reporting, disputes and litigations, arbitrations, mediations and investigations. He has acted as expert on over seventy disputes, litigations and arbitrations on topics such as: ISDA Close-outs, GMRA/GMSLA terminations, investments suitability, mis-selling and mis-representation claims, securities litigation, market manipulation, insider trading, investment fraud and best execution claims. He has also acted as expert on various financial markets investigations such as Libor and Euribor, credit default swaps, interest rates futures and foreign exchanges.
Bruno valued thousands of financial instruments in his career, on both contentious and non-contentious matters, and has been appointed as an expert witness in contentious matters on over forty occasions. His experience covers matters before the UK High Court, Singapore Supreme Court, Milan Criminal Court, Hong Kong High Court, Royal Court of Guernsey, Court of First Instance Principality of Monaco, District Court of Zurich, Bahamas Arbitral Tribunal, UNCITRAL in Vienna, ICC Stockholm and London. Bruno has given oral evidence on seven occasions.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Bruno worked as an Associate Director for Navigant Capital Markets Advisers (NCMA) in London. NCMA was the FSA regulated subsidiary of Navigant Consulting. At NCMA Bruno was licensed by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) (now the Financial Conduct Authority or the FCA) as a CF30. Bruno’s role at NCMA was similar to that at FTI. In addition to this and as part of his FCA license Bruno advised clients on market transactions.
Prior to his engagement with NCMA Bruno was part of the Capital Markets Services at Deloitte Luxembourg. At Deloitte Bruno was in charge of the quantitative team valuing OTC derivatives and structured products mainly for investment banks and asset managers. At Deloitte Bruno built models and valued thousands of complex financial instruments for Audit or advisory purpose. Bruno also worked for family offices and funds implementing Global Investment Performance standards, and worked for fund administrators implementing Net Asset Values calculations and risk management and investment compliance rules.
Bruno started his career at Société Générale Asset Management Alternative Investments (SGAM AI) in Paris where he worked as an analyst in the fund of hedge funds business line. Bruno supported the asset managers in selecting hedge fund managers, presenting opportunities to the investment committee, back testing and optimising portfolio allocation, and monitoring and reporting on performance.
Bruno is a certified CQF Alumni, a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (“CAIA”). He holds a master’s degree in financial engineering from the University of Nice, and holds a B.A. in economics from the University of Quebec in Montreal in partnership with the University of Nice.
