Wayar Ocampo is a lawyer graduated as Summa Cum Laude with a mention in Corporate Law from the Universidad Privada Boliviana (Bolivia). He has a Master’s Degree in International Dispute Settlement from the University of Geneva (Switzerland) and holds a Specialization on the Analysis of Civil and Commercial Contracts from the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar. Additionally, he has further studied specialization courses in arbitration, international law and investment taught by the University of Cornell (EE.UU.), University of Heilderberg (Germany), University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) and the International Law Academy of The Hague (The Netherlands).
Between 2014 and 2016, he served as associate of the arbitration team in the Washington D.C. offices of the firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP. Currently he is Co-head of the Dispute Resolution Practice of Wayar & von Borries Abogados S.C., Director of the Bolivian Arbitration Society and President of the Bolivian Arbitration Society SBA -40.
Wayar Ocampo has extensive experience as counsel in commercial and investment arbitrations, including proceedings under the UNCITRAL, ICSID, ICC, CNC, CAINCO and CADECO rules.
He was invited to participate as speaker in several dispute resolution conferences organized in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, France, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Peru, United States of America and Uruguay.
