Benoît co-chairs the “Business Litigation / Industrial Risks & Insurance” practice of Squadra
For the past 15 years, Benoît has represented French and foreign companies in their complex litigation matters (corporate and post-acquisition disputes, IT projects, banking & finance litigation, liability claims, etc.) before domestic courts and arbitral tribunals. His pugnacity and strategic prowess have been recognised by several French and international rankings. He was in particular named a “Rising Star” in France by Legal 500 EMEA in 2020.
Adept at deploying aggressive litigation strategies, Benoît complements this skill with his specific expertise in the field of mediation (as both counsel and mediator). He was trained in Inter-company Mediation by the Centre for Mediation and Arbitration of Paris (CMAP).
Benoît is widely recognised for his academic activity stemming from his professional practice: he notably co-authored a handbook on ADR published by LexisNexis and has authored a variety of academic publications on the emergence of new types of litigation, including the French class action and trade secret disputes.
For several years, Benoît has also dedicated time to imparting his knowledge, through seminars for clients and legal professionals, and by lecturing at universities and business schools.
Prior to joining Squadra, Benoît practiced business litigation for over a decade with the French full-service law firm August Debouzy, before moving on in 2017 to create, alongside four colleagues, the Commercial Litigation, White Collar and Compliance department of the Paris office of the US litigation firm, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan.
