Ben is a QC specialising in construction and professional negligence at Four New Square. He was called to be Bar of England and Wales in 1986 and became a QC in 2010. He is also called to the Bar in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Ben is the co-author of Professional Negligence in Construction [Routledge] and the co-editor of the Construction Professionals Chapter in Jackson & Powell on Professional Liability [Sweet & Maxwell]. He is a member of the Technology and Construction Bar Association and the Society of Construction Law. Ben has very extensive experience of acting both for and against architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and project managers. He is particularly experienced in engineering disputes. He appears regularly in cases involving construction professionals in Arbitrations and in the Technology and Construction Court. He has considerable experience of construction professional indemnity insurance issues and contribution disputes. In addition to appearing as an advocate he is an accredited mediator. Ben has an extensive professional negligence practice. He regularly acts both for and against solicitors, barristers, accountants and insurance brokers. He is the co-editor of the “Solicitors” Chapter in the Professional Liability Looseleaf [Informa] and was responsible for drafting the Professional Negligence Adjudication Scheme. Ben advises regulatory bodies and insurers and acts for both claimants and respondents in professional indemnity coverage disputes. Ben is member of the Professional Negligence Bar Association.
