"Bart is dedicated, responsive, and enjoys a strong reputation."

Bart de Rijke divides his time between Amsterdam and Brussels. He specialises in EU and cross-border competition law matters and represents companies in their multi-jurisdictional competition cases. He has a special interest in technology-driven industries and the platform economy, and he is at his best in cases involving complex technical issues and cases requiring a cross-expertise approach.

Bart has significant experience in acting as coordinating counsel in multi-jurisdictional merger filings and he has established working relations with first-tier competition experts in all major jurisdictions. He has successfully litigated in abuse of dominance cases and regularly advises clients on related topics. His work includes advising and defending clients in cartel investigations by European and national regulators. He also regularly advises multinational clients on aspects of competition law in contractual relations, in particular involving IP rights.

WWL: Competition 2017 ranked Bart as a “most highly regarded” future leader in competition law, recognising him as "an excellent all-round lawyer with first-class technical skills". The 2019 edition ranks him as a Thought Leader in competition law, and quotes a source stating: "He is a lawyer with profound knowledge of competition law."

De Brauw's integrated Amsterdam/Brussels-based competition team advises and represents major multinational corporations in their matters across Europe and beyond. The practice is ranked in the first tier of the competition/European law chapters of Chambers Europe 2020 and The Legal 500 2020.
