Barry Lynch is a senior director with Alvarez & Marsal Corporate Restructuring in Grand Cayman. He brings more than 10 years of experience in providing distressed solutions to the financial services sector within corporate advisory, restructuring, insolvency, structured finance, fiduciary and assurance capacities.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr Lynch worked for PwC (Ireland) for several years until he joined RHSW’s corporate restructuring group in 2013 and has worked on a diverse range of engagements across the financial services industry including banking and capital markets, hedge funds, structured finance CDOs and CLOs, aircraft leasing and shipping.
Since moving to the Cayman Islands in 2013, Mr Lynch has been appointed as an official liquidator by the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands and has run numerous high profile multi-jurisdictional insolvency, restructuring and advisory cases across the Cayman Islands, the United States, the United Kingdom, the British Virgin Islands, Portugal, Monaco and Switzerland. He has also taken a lead role acting as a board director on behalf of various distressed structured finance CDO deals.
Mr Lynch has completed a number of capital market transactions, independent business reviews, internal and external audits on behalf of multi-national financial institutions as well as providing advice and recommendations in contingency planning with respect to financial and operational control processes.
Mr Lynch is a chartered accountant (Ireland), a qualified insolvency practitioner in the Cayman Islands and a CIMA registered director. He is also a member of the Cayman Islands Society for Professional Accountants (CISPA), INSOL International and RISA, the Cayman Islands chapter of INSOL and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
