Avraham Well is recognised as a “leading Israeli capital markets lawyer” by impressed peers for his work on numerous high-value and complex transactions in the space.
Mr Well is a senior partner at FBC and the head of its corporate practice, including M&A, Capital Markets, and Banking & Finance. With almost 30 years of experience, he is ranked by international and domestic indices as one of Israel’s premier corporate attorneys, specialising in debt restructuring, capital markets, banking and finance, corporate governance, securities regulation, and M&A.
Mr Well has been involved in numerous high-profile M&A and capital markets transactions. He has advised, among others: the government of Israel in the privatisation of major national banks; Eurocom Group in acquiring the controlling interest in Bezeq for 6.5 billion shekels; Bright Food Group in acquiring the controlling interest in Tnuva at a company value of 8.6 billion shekels (the largest Chinese investment in Israel); Bank Leumi and Azrieli Group in the sale of credit card company Leumi Card for 2.5 billion shekels; and B Communications in a unique and innovative $800 million international high-yield note offering (the first ever international offering of notes listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange).
He has been involved in the majority of Israel’s most significant restructurings, aggregating tens of billions of shekels’ worth of debt, and is the first and only Israeli member of the International Insolvency Institute.
Mr Well earned his LLB degree (summa cum laude, 1988) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He lectures on corporate and securities laws at leading Israeli law schools. He frequently advises and comments upon legislation in the corporate and capital markets sectors, and provides interviews, and publishes and lectures on current trends in the Israeli corporate and securities markets.
