Ava Borrasso FCIArb is an independent arbitrator and counsel. Ms Borrasso serves as sole, panel and emergency arbitrator in international and domestic commercial arbitrations. She has acted as arbitrator or counsel in nearly 30 international and domestic commercial arbitrations. She is on the panel of neutrals for the International Centre for Dispute Resolution, and the American Arbitration Association complex and commercial panels; and she is listed with the ICC.
With over 30 years of experience, her practice centres on international arbitration and commercial litigation. Before establishing the firm in 2015, she was a partner of a prominent international arbitration and litigation boutique for nearly a decade, handling matters before various tribunals and courts. Her experience spans many industries including: commercial leasing; construction; financial services; international business and trade; insurance; international probate; IT; manufacturing and distribution; public works; real property; securities; and sport. Her cross-border experience includes advising and strategising multi-jurisdictional disputes across venues, both nationally and internationally.
Ms Borrasso is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and member of the board of directors of CIArb’s North America branch. She has been recognised for international arbitration by Best Lawyers in America and The Legal 500: Latin America. She is a frequent author and speaker on international and arbitration-related issues. She is a member of the New York International Arbitration Center, ArbitralWomen and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Ms Borrasso is a member of the Bars of the States of Florida and Illinois. She received her JD from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review.
