Austin Duffy is a chartered engineer with over 25 years’ experience in the design, construction and management of civil engineering and building projects globally.
Having worked at director level with both leading international project management firms and design and build contractors, he has extensive experience acting for both client and contractor entities in the delivery of complex design and construction projects within demanding programme and budget constraints, whilst maintaining the highest health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
Austin’s experience encompasses project and programme management, design and construction management, design and build contracting, management and general contracting, risk management, value engineering, project and construction management performance matters, delay analysis and dispute resolution. He has particularly extensive experience in the MENA marketplace having worked as a construction director, responsible for the establishment and day-to-day management of the Middle East & North African operations of a design and build contractor based in Dubai.
Austin is regularly instructed as an independent expert on project management and construction management performance matters, and as an independent expert on programming, delay and disruption matters. He has submitted written evidence in adjudication, mediation, litigation and arbitration proceedings and has testified, including the provision of concurrent evidence in ICC, HKIAC, UNCITRAL, DIAC and LCIA arbitrations on numerous occasions.
As well as independent expert appointments, Austin is regularly retained to provide strategic development management, project management, construction management and programme management advisory services on major capital investment projects.
