Mr. Antonio Quintero Rodríguez is the founding partner at Carrero & Quintero Justicia Deportiva, a leading Venezuelan boutique law firm specializing in sports, media, and entertainment law.
Since his admission as an advocate, Antonio has passionately and whole-heartedly devoted his practice to sports law with over ten years of experience. Although he practices all sports law areas, he mainly specializes in anti-doping cases, football cases, and electoral disputes within sporting organizations. He also litigates before several jurisdictions, including the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland.
He served as a member of the Council of Southamerica Rugby from 2016 to 2020. He is also a member of the disciplinary panels of the Venezuelan Athletics Federation and the Venezuelan Rugby Federation. Besides, he is a member of The International Association of Football Lawyers and frequently lectures in various jurisdictions across the world on anti-doping subjects and sports matters.
He holds a law degree from the Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas, Venezuela. He also holds an LLM in International Sports Law from IEB in Madrid, Spain, and LLM in Global Executive Sports Law from ISDE, Madrid, Spain. He further holds postgraduate degrees, including a degree in Baseball Administration (UCV), a degree as a Football Coach (UDS and COV), a degree in litigation (Universidad Metropolitana), and degree as an announcer (UCV). During his studies at the Universidad Metropolitana, he participated and was ranked first in the 2006 Victor Carlos Garcia Moreno Moot Court Competition.
