Antonietta Melchiorre, a partner of Lapointe Rosenstein Marchand Melançon LLP since 2000, has been practising at the firm since her admission to the Bar in 1992. She was also recently appointed an administrative judge on a part-time basis at the Financial Markets Administrative Tribunal, a tribunal who ensures the protection of the public and effective supervision of Quebec’s financial markets. Antonietta is an arbitrator and an accredited mediator in civil and commercial matters. She is also a member of the firm’s ethics committee and chairs the firm’s women’s committee.
Antonietta represents clients in significant civil and commercial litigation matters. Over the years, she has acquired extensive experience in disciplinary law, ethics and professional liability litigation, real estate litigation, banking litigation, franchising, construction litigation and litigation in insurance law. Antonietta has appeared before courts of all jurisdictions in Quebec.
Prior to her appointment as an administrative judge at the Financial Markets Administrative Tribunal, she led the securities litigation team and represented clients in a full range of securities-related matters.
In connection with disciplinary law, ethics and professional liability litigation, Antonietta Melchiorre represents various professionals who are the object of a disciplinary investigation or an inspection from its professional orders. She pleads regularly before various disciplinary committees.
She also assists foreign jurisdictions in connection with the obtaining of evidence from witnesses in the Province of Quebec.
Antonietta has also developed substantial experience with commissions of inquiry, having represented several clients in connection with the Commission of Inquiry on the Awarding and Management of Public Contracts in the Construction Industry.
