Anna has a broad competition practice, including advising on mergers, cartels and market investigations. She has dealt extensively with the European Commission and the UK competition authorities, as well as other regulators around the world. She is based in the firm’s Brussels office. She is qualified both as a solicitor (England and Wales) and as a member of the Brussels Bar (A List).
Anna has advised clients on notable EU merger cases, including IAG/bmi, IAG/Aer Lingus, Marriott/Starwood, Akzo Nobel/ICI, Sony/BMG, DS Smith/Europac, Fortum/Uniper and BA/IB, and on notable UK merger cases, including Standard Life/Aberdeen Asset Management, Cirrus/Wolfson, John Wood Group/PSN, Dentsu/Aegis, Motorola/Psion, Travis Perkins/BSS and Ericsson/Red Bee Media.
Anna’s contentious experience includes follow-on damages actions before the national courts and the appeal of cartel fines to the European Courts, including advising DuPont on the landmark ruling by the European Court of Justice in relation to 50/50 JV parent company liability for cartel infringements. Anna is currently advising British Airways on the multi-jurisdictional air cargo litigation, including its recent appeal to the European Court of Justice.
Anna was awarded the Client Choice 2019 award for Competition & Antitrust in the European Union. She has also been recognised by W@Competition in its “30 in their 30s” list of notable female competition practitioners, and as a leading lawyer by Chambers and Who’s Who Legal.
Anna is the co-author of the EU chapter of Getting the Deal Through - Cartel Regulation and the “Merger Regulation” chapter of Bellamy & Child.
